Dr. J.D. Frizzell Honored as Music Educator Award Finalist
Dr. J.D. Frizzell, Director of Fine Arts at Briarcrest Christian School, has been named a finalist for the Music Educator Award™ presented by the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum®. It is Dr. Frizzell’s second consecutive year to be named among the top 10 music educators in America by the organization.
A total of 10 music teachers from 10 cities across eight states were selected as finalists. In total, more than 2,400 initial nominations were submitted from 49 states.
The Music Educator Award recognizes current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the music education field and demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. The recipient will be recognized during GRAMMY® Week 2025.
The award is open to current U.S. music teachers. Finalists will receive an honorarium and matching grant for their school's music program.
