BCS Boys Basketball Wins Third State Championship Title

BCS Boys Basketball Wins Third State Championship Title

In a rematch of last year's D2-AA state championship game, Briarcrest's varsity boys basketball team defeated Brentwood Academy 80-71 to win the third state title in BCS boys hoops history. The championship is the program's first since 2019. Fred Smith was named championship game MVP after finishing with 29 points and 15 rebounds in a dominant performance. The Saints jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never trailed in a wire-to-wire win on the state's biggest stage. Cooper Haynes, the all-time leading scorer in BCS history, added 24 points in the win. The Saints recorded 30+ wins in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history.
